Mars and Venus

These two planets are closer to Earth right now. Its pretty cool to look up in the sky and see these two bright lights. I didn't get the bigger camera out and this picture is actually taken through the sunroof of my truck with my cell phone. Not too bad. I guess this isn't going to happen again till at least 2016 and I can't remember if they said it was going to be this close.

The brighter dot is Mars and the not so bright one is Venus.

So I was looking at pictures I have downloaded and haven't done anything with so I decided to post a few random pictures from last year that I never did a post about.



This is smoke from one of the wild fires back in September, yes totally using a zoom lens, never too close to them, occasionally we will get ash from the fires.



Not bad taken from the truck while I was driving!!! Yes, I know I'm talented...but honestly I was at a traffic light. Perfect position and timing.



My little Desmond learning how to be a cat instead of a Dog. He saw the others playing in the box and had to try it out as well. He's finally found his cat voice instead of his dog growl.

Update on Yesterday's Post

LOS ANGELES (KABC) -- Fighter jets were scrambled over Los Angeles to intercept a small plane violating a flight restriction Thursday afternoon.

The Cessna was in violation of a temporary flight restriction over the city.

The two fighter jets followed the Cessna until it landed at Long Beach Airport at approximately 12:30 p.m., according to the North American Aerospace Defense Command (NORAD). The plane was met by local law enforcement.

The Secret Service confirmed that a plane flew in restricted airspace of Marine One, the helicopter carrying President Barack Obama, at 11:40 a.m. near Los Angeles International Airport.

The pilot was interviewed at Long Beach Airport after landing, and authorities concluded the incursion was not intentional, according to the Secret Service.

The Secret Service confirmed that narcotics were found on the plane. The type of narcotics was not released.

A source told Eyewitness News the narcotics recovered was marijuana.

Yep it was 30 - 40 pounds of marijuana. How stupid is that guy and how the heck was he able to get a pilots license being that stupid.

President flying over my house AGAIN!!!

So Obama is in town again!! Why is it that every time a President comes to town it has to be in the middle of rush hour? Now I don't have to be out there anymore but really common sense tells anyone that hey why don't I make my schedule a little less taxing on the people of LA and fly in at night when the freeways aren't already congested to the MAX....but NO let me fly in right in the middle of evening traffic and make it so much worse for everyone but ME!!!

Anyway for the whole point of this post, I didn't grab my phone or my camera but this flew over my backyard this morning.



It was accompanied by two other helicopters, headed to LAX...which I'm glad I wasn't having to drop off or pick up Michael from at that time. So a couple of minutes after they flew over the house, I could her the Jets starting to take off, not really a huge deal, kinda weird that it was a Thursday and not the weekend but all of sudden it wasn't just one or two that took off it was four back to back that took off.



Well one of these JET fighters decided to accelerate at a pretty low level flying off the short runway straight over the house. Learned a lesson thanks to that jet fighter, never try to hold a cat when a JET is flying low over the house.

Thanks Mr Jet fighter I really do appreciate the sound of freedom flying over my house but give a girl a warning, I'll be wearing these cat scratches for awhile. Poor cats are still traumatized JET planes and the trash truck all in one day!!

Dads view from Hospital

So Dad had to have his right kidney out at the end of January. He was in the hospital for about a week. I took my phone in and he was able to SKYPE or TANGO with Thalea and the boys and some of the Cassity's. I think Carl even SKYPE'd from work a couple of times, but He and Fran were there most nights in person. Anyway I think it was Sunday night...Super Bowl Sunday, Dad had to get a refill on blood and Mom and I were sitting there looking at the window and I took my cell phone and snapped some pictures. Turned out pretty good looking through a window. Somewhere on that hill is the house on Channel Street. I think I like the view looking over there better, then the view of looking over to Long Beach.

2012

Ok so I won't give any lame excuses for not blogging other than just pure laziness, but I'm sitting here, realizing that I need to be better at blogging and plus there are a few blogs I need to do for December if and when I ever decide to do a blog book for myself. Anyway here's to more blogging in 2012.

HAPPY 48TH ANNIVERSARY TO MOM AND DAD TODAY!!!!



I'm sure they won't be thrilled with this picture but its the latest I had, I don't think I took any pictures at Christmas time, so its a picture from my Birthday dinner, yes I turned 42 last year, but I was recently given a picture from when I was about 20 - 21 and people that saw it said I hadn't changed a bit!!!

Thalea's Birthday

Can't believe a year has come and gone so fast. I got to have my birthday present again this year to be to hang out with my favorite sister for her birthday. I told her not to tell the boys that I was coming. I wanted to surprise them. I had talked to Sam the night before on the phone and asked him if he wanted me to come and visit him soon. He told Mason (I found out later after surprising them) that I was coming and Mason told him that he was wrong that I wasn't coming so I got lots of hugs from two happy boys that their favorite Aunt came to visit them.

Thalea took a video of the surprise, but I don't know how to put it here on the blog and most of the pictures Thalea took. We went bowling and we played secret Santa's to the neighbors. I had a chocolate monster for a helper dipping the marsh mellows. We had to hurry and clean him up before the parents saw him. Mason took my ipod and learned how to outrun the police on one of my games. He handed it to me and asked me what did this word mean that was flashing, I about died laughing when I realized that he had escaped the police. I can't even do that on the game!!!

Here are some pictures I took the last day, when Thalea and I went to Gardner's Village. I had to take some pictures of the demanding ducks and geese and then of the little Elfs they had out there. Can't resist a little Elf flirting!!!
